I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be speaking at the BlogPaws Conference 2017 in Myrtle Beach, SC. Bloggers can’t rely on their audience to keep visiting their blog. They need to pull them in with email. My presentation, “Email Isn’t Dead – How to Grow & Engage Your Audience with Email Marketing” will take place at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 20th.
BlogPaws is a global community of pet enthusiasts who write about and support pets via social media. They connect brands with pet parents and pet parents with each other. The annual conference gets top pet bloggers, pet brands, and social media experts together for a jam-packed long weekend of education, networking, and fun.
This conference is unique in that pets are welcome. It’s not unusual to see pigs, birds, even a capybara! They’ll walk the red carpet, dressed to the nines, on the last night and partake in the Nose-to-Nose Blogging Awards Ceremony. You have to see it to believe it. Be sure and check out the videos of past conferences that I’ve embedded below.
As a first time speaker I honestly can’t wait to participate in this event! Too bad my cats can’t go too, but since the last time I took my cat to the vet I had to use a raccoon trap to catch her (seriously, a raccoon trap baited with food and it still took 2 days to catch her), I’m thinking she would not appreciate a car ride to Myrtle Beach. Oh heavens no! But I’ll be there to share in the fun and festivities of the entire event.
This year’s keynote address is being given by Jay Baer, digital thought leader, New York Times best selling author of “Hug Your Haters” and “Youtility” and the most retweeted person in the world of digital marketers. Joining Jay will be Kathleen Gage, marketing strategist and product-creation expert who works with consciously aware entrepreneurs, authors, and speakers.
For the blogging community, I’ll be speaking on a variety of ways that the pet blogging community can grow and engage their audiences with email. Bloggers need to know basic email design best practices and how to design for mobile, so I’ll be covering those topics along with how to increase your open rates, click through rates, and getting the action you want readers to take. I’ll go into advanced techniques that anyone can learn, including segmentation, automation, and list maintenance. There will be a quick review of the top email systems with pricing and features, plus any pros and cons that I’ve found from sending tens of thousands of emails.
In quick fire, rapid succession, I’ll throw out 25 ways to grow your email list, today (or when the bloggers get home). The use of email and social media together is imperative for success in reaching audiences, so there will be a list of best practices given. I’ll also give my favorite secret places to source out free professional images for email.
Bloggers should bring their questions, as we end with a lively Q&A session. My presentation is geared for any level of expertise and information shared can be used immediately, regardless of the email system audience members are using.
